‘Cries and Whispers’ 1972
Decided to watch the Ingmar Bergman film Cries and Whispers again, tonight. I realise that any attempt to understand progressive art, requires a second or third or multiple viewings. And how handsomely I was rewarded tonight. This is an extraordinary film. I don’t even know how to explain how a film from Week 3 popped up again, but now that I have watched it again, I have appreciated this film on a different level. This is a brilliant film, concealed in the form of a normal film. With analysis, it now starts to reveal its greatness.
