‘Godard’s History of Cinema Part 2’ 2018
This is a very strange film, or series of episodes. The narration and the distortion of images, famous and not at all famous, is weird.
Most of today was spent sleeping and getting over the three-and-a-half hour Eustache film, La maman et la putain and writing down bits and pieces of the dialogue. No longer is there the luxury of having a day, sometimes two, to cogitate on what I’ve seen and how it filters – slowly – through my brain. It’s pretty much the quick response to the film at this stage.
